Product details

Learning tennis is hard. The Babolat Ballfighter 25 is designed specifically to change that.

Developed in close collaboration with specialist coaching partners and now recommended by over 6,000 coaches worldwide, the Ballfighter 25 takes everything that makes tennis difficult for a 9 or 10-year-old and systematically removes it. The result is a racquet that gets children rallying, building confidence and genuinely enjoying themselves on court, faster.

The headline feature is the 105in² head, which is notably larger than most junior frames at this length. More head area means a bigger sweet spot, which means off-centre contact still produces usable, confident shots rather than embarrassing frames. For a child still developing their hand-eye coordination, that forgiveness is the difference between a child who wants to keep playing and one who gives up after half a session.

The frame itself is 100% aluminium, keeping the total weight at just 218g with a 305mm head-light balance. That combination makes the racquet genuinely easy for smaller arms to swing freely without fighting the weight or tiring out. The consistent 20/20/20mm beam keeps the hoop stable and forgiving across the full hitting surface.

The Improver Grip is printed directly on the handle, giving children an instant visual guide to where their fingers belong for a correct forehand, backhand and neutral grip. These aren't gimmicks; they're the kind of early-stage technical tools that coaches use precisely because correct grip habits formed at 9 or 10 are far easier to maintain than bad ones corrected at 14.

The 16x17 string pattern is open enough to produce natural power on shorter, less forceful swings, so children don't need to muscle every ball to get it across the net.

It arrives factory-strung and ready to play, with a cover included.

A colourful, fun and genuinely purposeful first racquet for any child taking their first steps on court.

FAQ

Does this racquet come strung?

Yes. The Ballfighter 25 is factory-strung and ready to play straight from the box.

Does it come with a cover?

Yes. A cover is included, protecting the frame during transport and storage between sessions.

What is the Improver Grip?

The Improver Grip is a teaching system printed directly on the handle of the racquet. It shows children exactly where to place their fingers for a correct forehand grip, backhand grip and neutral grip position. It's designed to help beginners develop proper hand placement from their very first session, making it easier for coaches and parents to reinforce technique without needing to constantly correct grip errors.

Why does the Ballfighter 25 have such a large head compared to other 25" racquets?

The oversized 105in² head is intentional. For children still developing coordination, a larger sweet spot means more clean contact and fewer mis-hits, which builds confidence quickly. As a child's technique improves, they typically move on to a graphite composite frame with a more standard 100in² head.

What age and height is it designed for?

It's built for children aged 9 and older standing between 135 and 145cm tall. Players shorter than 135cm would be better matched to the Ballfighter 23, while those over 145cm are likely ready to consider a 26" or graphite composite frame.

How does the Ballfighter 25 differ from the Carlitos Junior 25?

Both are 25" aluminium beginner racquets, but the Ballfighter 25 has a larger 105in² head (vs 100in²) and a 305mm balance, making it the more forgiving and beginner-focused of the two. The Carlitos Junior 25 adds Alcaraz-inspired branding and a Memo/Improver grip system. The Ballfighter is Babolat's most coach-recommended entry-level frame and is typically the first choice for school and club programmes.
